What is a Flow Conditioner ?
Flow conditioner is a device used in process measurement system. It can effectively eliminate flow distortions, create a fully developed flow profile and help reduce flow measurement facility errors due to installation effects. This device is a perforated plate with holes of varying sizes.
The stainless steel ASME flow conditioners made by WHM are superior both in its effect on mean flow and in swirl removing capability. More materials are available including Inconel, Monel, Duplex, Hastelloy, etc. We also accept OEM production. There are four styles of WHM flow conditioners conformity with ISO 5167 NOVA's design of K-Lab perforated plate flow conditioner.


FCF=flow conditioner flange style

FCP=flow conditioner pin style

FCRTJ=flow conditioner RTJF/RTJM style

FCS=flow conditioner orifice style
Type A: Flow Conditioner Flanged (FCF)

Flanged flow condtioner is designed with raised face. It is installed between two standard raised face flanges and gaskets. One end of the flow conditioner is inserted into the downstream pipe bore.

Type C: Flow Conditioner Pin (FCP)

Long Pin style flow conditioner does not have a flange available for installation. It is inserted into the pipe and held in place by a set screw, fully enclosed by the pipe wall.

Material: ASME SA479 316 SS
Type D: Flow Conditioner RTJ female (RTJF) and male (RTJM)

The D style is for an application using ring type joint gaskets. Flow conditioner is made to match with the flanges and gaskets based on the pressure rating.

Size: 6”-12” SCH80 / SCH40
Material: ASME SA479 316 SS
Type S: Flow Conditioner Standard Style FCS

The S style is for flow conditioner housing. In this situation, flow conditioner housing replaces the flanges to hold the flow conditioner. This flow conditioner is easily taken out in maintenance without dismantling the pipeline same as orifice fitting holder for orifice plate.
